FASTEST TIMES AND RUNNERS AT THE SALOMON UTH 2025

The history of Salomon Ultra-Trail Hungary has been written since 2015. This year was the ninth edition of the UTH, as 2020 and 2021 were skipped due to the Covid closures. So far, we have had a total of seventy winners in Szentendre in five different competitions, and of course it is worth monitoring the development of the course records from year to year.

In the longest distance, the 111K race, Tamás Belus doubled among men. The Hungarian ITRA representative won UTH for the second time, finishing in first place again after 2019. He finished under 12 hours, with a time of 11:57:46 to be exact, which is almost an hour better than the time he won in 2019. The course record is still held by András Dittrich, who finished in 11:06:29 in 2024.

Women already had a two-time winner. Zsófia Vincze won in 2017 and 2023, so six years apart, like Tamás Belus. In 2025, the winner of the women’s race arrived from quite a distance, from Almaty, the capital of Kazakhstan, which is about 4,000 kilometers from Szentendre. Ksenia Avdeeva had the most ITRA points before the race and won with confidence worthy of a chance, in 13:26:58. However, the course record still belongs to Krisztina Fazakas Biborka, who won in 2024 with 12:58:30.

Of course, it wasn’t just the female winner who came from abroad. Of the 1,529 participants, 1,234 were Hungarian trailrunners, but the other 295 participants came from 38 different countries around the world. 40 Slovaks, 22 Poles, 21 Germans, and 20 each from Austria and the Czech Republic made up the largest number of teams from abroad. There were also runners from the US, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Canada, and Mexico, to name a few from the farther participants.

The winner of the second longest distance, the 84K, was Enrique Gomis Argemi. The Barcelona runner also broke the course record, with a time of 8:09:48. There has never been a Spanish winner at any distance of the UTH before. A Slovak participant won the women’s Szentlászló trail – in perhaps the closest fight of the Pentecost weekend, Anna Brasenova stood on the top of the podium with a time of 10:12:56. The course record here also remained with Biborka Krisztiná Fazakas (9:22:52), following her success in 2023.

Miklós Őri was the fastest man in the 54K distance of the Szentendre trail. The champion of UTH 2022 now finished in first place with a time of 4:39:08. There was a foreign success in the women’s race. Jeanne Le Rey registered from La Vraie-Croix, 2000 km away on the Brittany, France, won with a time of 5:38:07. She thus became the first French winner in the history of the UTH. The previous course records were not in danger here: Pavel Orolin 4:09:21 (2024) and Nóra Juhász 5:16:14 (2023).

On the Visegrád Trail (30K), young Hungarian competitors proved to be the fastest, the 22-year-old Máté Vásárhelyi (2:11:29) and the 19-year-old Dalma Klincsek (3:00:00) could stand on the top of the podium. However, the previous record remained unchanged, Josip Mestric (2:00:42) and Irén Tiricz (2:25:46) also finished in record times last year, in 2024.

On the “youngest” distance , Twin Peaks (22K), which has only existed for three years, the course record was broken, Pavol Orolin finished in 1:32:32. The Slovak competitor also holds the Szentendre trail course record and has also won the Visegrád Trail. In the women’s race, Irén Tiricz won here in 1:53:59. She already has two previous successes on the Visegrád trail, from 2016 and 2024.

Next year will be held the 10th Ultra-Trail Hungary, which will certainly provide many interesting and special features just for the jubilee.
